Clinical Use The Legionella Urinary Antigen assay is specific for L. pneumophila serogroup 1. This serogroup is responsible for greater than 70% of all cases of legionellosis. Culture is recommended for detection of other serogroups of L. pneumophila or specis of Legionella, and to confirm infection. 
Rejection Criteria Specimens other than urine, or improperly stored urine samples are unacceptable.
